Middle Makerz Art Studio

Middle Makerz Art Studio is a free community oriented visual arts after-school program for Middle School students in grades 6 - 8 held monthly at Mount Pleasant Community Library.

The Middle Makerz curriculum is grounded in quality material, sensory and kinesthetic explorations, skill-building, collaboration, and culturally responsive teaching for all. We believe that every child, regardless of income or financial ability, should have access to high quality and joyful visual arts experiences.

Middle Makerz and your community

  • After School Programming

At Middle Makerz, students in grades 6-8 engage in art making through material exploration. Past projects have included sewing, weaving, manga drawing, zine making, and much more will be explored coming soon!

  • Past programming

Though offerings change with the rotation of our teachers and community collaborators, Middle Makerz meets every student where they are at so they can learn new skills and make something memorable.

  • Our instructors

Middle Makerz art and design workshops are taught in collaboration with RISD’s Department of Teaching + Learning in Art + Design. TLAD Faculty and student teaching artists in the Master of Arts in Art and Design Education create customized workshops each Fall and Spring, so there is always something different to explore.
