POD + Mini Makerz

Mini Makerz Art Studio is a free community oriented visual arts program for young children and their families, offering free visual arts programs for young children and families in Providence, Pawtucket, Woonsocket, and Central Falls, RI, including weekend workshops, after school classes, and special pop up events.

The Mini Makerz curriculum is grounded in material exploration, play, collaboration between children and their families, and culturally responsive teaching. We believe that every child/family, regardless of income or financial ability, should have access to high quality and joyful visual arts experiences.

Our Community Partner for Fall 2025 is Mount Pleasant Community Library.

Mini Makerz and your community

  • Weekend Programs

    Throughout the year, Mini Makerz runs free weekend programs in collaboration with local partner organizations such as the Creative Reuse Center of RI, Mt. Hope Learning Center in Providence, and more. These programs are free and registration is required.

    We are currently partnering with Mt. Pleasant Library in Providence to run our Saturday classes, with courses specifically designed for children 4-7 years old.

  • After School Classes

    Mini Makerz collaborates with public and charter schools in Providence, Pawtucket, Woonsocket, and Central Falls to offer single- or multi-session after school programs during the fall and spring.

  • Our Instructors

    Mini Makerz art and design workshops are taught in collaboration with RISD’s Department of Teaching + Learning in Art + Design. TLAD Faculty and student teaching artists in the Master of Arts in Art and Design Education create customized workshops each Fall and Spring, so there is always something different to explore.
