In this workshop, students learned how to tell stories through words and images, comics. Each day, through class exercises, comics discussions, and creative prompts, participants gained the knowledge and foundational skills to create various visual stories, from Ikea instructions to memoirs to epic sagas. Teens developed a foundational understanding of reading and making comics, including skills in panel structuring, visual and literary cues, and drawing clarity. Students also gained awareness of comics worldwide, including manga and bandes dessinées.
